Being a Jedi in Coding

L.I: To code the robot to move backwards without touching it - to be a jedi

Star Wars: The Mandalorian - Baby Yoda Explained - Den of Geek

My robot will wait until i have pressed the onboard button before it does anything. We used an "IF - THEN - ELSE" block as this gives the robot two choices of things to do. We are using the ULTRASONIC  SENSORon the of the robot and we need to sense if something 10cm in front of it. IF something is 10cm or LESS in front of the robot , it will move backwards. IF something is NOT less han 10cm in the front of the robot, it wil move forwards (ELSE). This is all put into a forever block so that the robot constantly senses what is in front of it.

Tech Reflection

L.I: To reflect on what I did at Wood Tech.

We had our first tech session with Mr Grundy. When we were in Mr Grundy's Wood class there were a lot of amazing designs like cars, planes, dispensers and many more cool designs that were only made of wood. We thought about eight designs we wanted to create, Mr Grundy also gave us some ideas of what to create and some of the designs looked detailed. One thing I found interesting was that most of the designs started off as a wood joint which is basically the beginning of what’s created.

Decorating The Tree

L.I: To decorate the tree in the office with our handmade decorations.

This Term LS2 was working on our sewing. We got to pick our holiday decoration and I chose a Palm tree with a pineapple sewed onto it, my other one was the chinese ying and yang and the last one was a tongan flag. We chose to hang them on the Christmas tree. Today most of the LS2 students have finished their sewing so we went to hang them on the tree we first went to the office where the tree was then when we got there we were talking with Mr Jonhstion (our client) about our holiday decorations and how they look and that if we had any thing we would do differently next time. Then we stood up one by one to hang our holiday decoration on the tree. This was fun and cool looking and we put our holiday decorations on the christmas tree.

Tech, Rocketships

L.I: Is to learn about rocket ships and find out how many fins does the rocket ship need.

This week for tech, The year 7s Worked with Mrs Sharma and Mr Dunn. Mr Dunn showed us by explaining and understanding How many fins does the rocket need to fly ( No Fins , 2 Fins or 4 Fins). For my prediction. I think my rocket needs 4 fins to fly into the sky. We also started off by getting straws and making it into rocket ships. We created it by turning the front tip and bending it. After bending it, we needed to grab some scalar tape  and put it onto the straw.  We then started off by writing keywords that link to rocket science. We also learned interesting facts and information about rockets. The most interesting fact I learned was that there is a New Zealand Rocket company called Rocket Lab and learning about who works with them. Thanks again to Mr Dunn for helping and understanding more  on Rocket sciences.

Science & Technology

LI:To identify the different types and uses of plastic.

This week for tech the year 7's at Panmure Bridge School  learned about the different types of plastics. We also learned about Plastic, material, wood, paper and metal which helps us understand more about  plastics. We also played an activity that will give us more information on plastic. The activity we played was about looking around the class and trying to look for the different materials that we could see. The most interesting fact that I learnt was that every year 17 billion rubbish gets thrown away in the ocean.

Tech Reflection

L.I: To identify what we know about "Science".

Today the year 7's from LS2 went to Tamaki college for Science technology. Our science teacher taught us about different equipment and how use them in science. The science equipment that I learnt about were the Testing Tubes, Bunsen Burner, Clamp stand, Tongs and Petri. The Testing tubes are for testing experiments, the Bunsen burner is for collecting gas and then you burn it so that you could hold the testing tube on top of it so that you burn the experiment you are doing. A clamp stand is to hold the testing tubes but only if it is hot and the tongs and perti are also like the clamp stand but you hold it like scissors. I was told to ask a question that includes science and my question was "What started the corona virus or who started it?".

Food Technology

L.I: To make pizza.

Today at food tech we followed the recipe to make a beef and BBQ scrumptious pizza. For our vegetables we used 1 onion, 1 carrot and 4 mushrooms. First we cut the onion so that we could fry it. Second we started to spread our sauce on the pizza bread and then we added all our veggies on the bread as well. After we finished adding all our ingredients we put BBQ sauce on and then Mrs Heka put our food in the oven. After 10 minutes of waiting we finally got to see the final results and it did not look so well as me and my buddy thought but it was so DELICIOUS!!!.

Food Technology

L.I: To know and follow the instructions.

Today LS2 had technology and we made saagwala with Mrs Heka. I worked as a group with Fau and Juel. As we made saagwala we got given oil, curry powder, an onion, garlic, spinach, crushed tomato, yogurt and salt. We started by oiling our pot then chopping the onion and garlic to put it in. Second we added our spinach and our crushed tomato's then mixed it. Third we put in our yogurt, salt and curry powder for our seasoning. To finish it off we added rice and there we had it, we made our DELICIOUS saagwala.

Food Technology

L.I: To make vege noodles.

At  Food Technology today, LS2 made vege noodles in the Tamaki College kitchen with Mrs Tuipulotu our reliever.
For our first lesson we got given green beans, carrot, broccoli and onions to chop. As I cut made the noodles Fau cut up the beans and broccoli while Juel cut the onion and did the dishes.
While we finished cutting the veges, my group had to oil a pan to put in our veges so that we could fry them. Our seasoning we got given were Soy sauce and Oyster sauce put together with brown sugar.
I put all of them together with the veges and noodles while Fau mixed it and Juel made sure that our area was clean. After all the things we did for Food Technology, LS2 finally finished cooking so we got to eat it and it was very DELICIOUS.

Food Technology

L.I: To create a chicken salad

Today LS2 had Tech and we were thought by Mrs Heka how to make curry chicken salad at Tamaki college. In the middle lesson we were given red cabbage, carrot, onions and raw chicken . All our ingredients were washed and ready to be cut. As we started cutting I got to cut the meat and my 2 other group friends cut the veges. As I got started I grabbed the biggest raw meat to chomp up. When I cut my meat up I had to make it the same size so that it can all cook at the same time. All my ingredients were all cut and ready to be cooked. Before we started to cook the ingredients we added oil to the pot and then put the  onions in. We mixed our oil and onions then we got given cooked rice to add in our food. As we started adding our meat and veges, we were also given curry powder, beans and corn then we mixed all of them together and made a fresh curry chicken salad.
